You will need to provide one
of the following methods of verifying fuel consumption rate for each
type of vehicle you are claim for.
( Note : Pick-up
must complete the self test method as there is no engine diagnostic
equipment for pick-ups )
Either of these methods are
accepted by the Alberta Government to calculate your fuel
consumption rate.
1.) You can contact any
heavy duty mechanic to arrange an
engine download.
2.) Complete a self test as
follows.
You need to fuel your
vehicle up at the pumps right to the rim
Run your truck for 3 hours
then fill your truck up to the rim again,
Drive your truck for 5
hours and fuel up again
Provide us with a total of
3 receipts so we can calculate your fuel consumption rate.
( if you are claiming for
a PTO you must also run your PTO for a minimum of 3 hours as
well. )
